A Tae Kwon Do birthday party at Chung TKD in New Hyde Park is about ninety minutes at the school, led by a black belt instructor. Kids warm up with games and target kicks, the birthday child performs a demo and breaks a board, and the party ends with pizza, cake and presents.

How long is the party, and who runs it?

The party lasts about ninety minutes, and a black belt instructor leads it from start to finish. It is held at the school.

What happens before the party?

About two weeks before, your child comes in to rehearse. A black belt instructor helps them practice a short demo and a board break, so on the day they know exactly what to do.

What do the kids do at the party?

They play. The instructor runs obstacle courses, climbing, rolling, super jumps and target kicks to music, so guests who have never done Tae Kwon Do have as much fun as your child.

What is the birthday child's big moment?

The demo and the board break. Your child performs with the black belt instructor in front of everyone they invited, then breaks the board. After that, the instructor puts on a live kicking show.

What's included, and what do we bring?

The school provides pizza and soda, plates, napkins, cups and invitations, plus the birthday trophy and an official certificate. Every child at the party, the birthday child included, goes home with a gift certificate for a free month of lessons. You bring the cake, candles, a table cover and any decorations, and parents help set up and tidy up.

How many people can come?

Up to 20 people in all, counting the kids and their families.

How do we book a party?

Tell the school the date you have in mind and your child's age, and the school checks it for you. A deposit holds the date, and if plans change you can reschedule without penalty. The school shares dates and pricing directly.
